Treat P0562 as a fault that can affect safe operation—do not write it off as a nuisance lamp. P0562 means system voltage is below the ECM's normal operating range while the engine is running or during key-on monitoring. Low supply voltage creates cascading false sensor codes, slow actuators, and hard starts. Measure battery voltage at rest, charging voltage at the battery and at the ECM power pins, and voltage drop on grounds and main feeds. Corroded battery cables and failing alternators are frequent; do not chase every secondary code until charging is restored. Prioritize ruling out weak battery unable to hold surface charge, alternator not producing adequate amperage/voltage, and high resistance at battery cables, grounds, or fusible links before you resume normal driving. Start by load-test the battery and measure charging voltage at idle and 2000 rpm, then voltage-drop test positive and ground paths to the ECM. Only plan for battery meeting CCA requirements for the vehicle after measurements still condemn that part.
